ranmaru sotetsu no kai o miru zu
"Mori no Ranmaru was a smart young retainer of Oda Nobunaga. Nobunaga had imported a sotetsu, a variety of sago palm, as a curiosity for his garden in Kyoto. This tree became increasingly uncomfortable as winter drew on and started to yearn for its native southern climes. Each night it complained loudly that it wanted to go home. The voice bothered Nobunaga, who ordered Ranmaru to cut it down. Before he could do so, the palm tree decided it had suffered enough and began walking. it was last seen by a startled Ranmaru moving in a southerly direction."
